Patrick O’Meara, MBA, CFP, is Chair of Business and Commerce at the Donald School of Business, Red Deer College, Alberta Canada. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry having worked in credit card operations, retail investments and credit and small business lending for Canada Trust, CIBC, Citigroup Canada, and Royal Bank. Patrick is a graduate of Huron College, University of Western Ontario where he earned a B.A. in Politics. He also graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Commerce. In addition, Patrick earned his MBA from Niagara University, Lewiston, New York, USA in 2004, where he was awarded Graduate Student of the Year for academic performance and leadership. He also received the New York State Society of CPA’s (Buffalo Chapter) Award for Distinction in Accounting (2004). In 2004, Patrick was admitted to the National Catholic College Honours Society (Kappa Gamma Pi) recognizing his outstanding academic achievements. Patrick has taught courses in finance, investments , money and banking and international management at both the college and university level. He is also a regular contributor to the various newspapers writing in the area of business, personal finance and investments.
