Privacy Policy

Welcome to MuchLearning. MuchLearning is a collaboration platform for testing, training, certifying, and self-publishing that seamlessly combines a fully web browser-based authoring system with a powerful eLearning and eAssessment framework.

At MuchLearning, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains the use of information collected on the MuchLearning platform and on its online payment service. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy so as to make informed decisions. Also, we urge all visitors to take an active role in helping us protect their privacy by becoming aware of the information usage they encounter. Please direct your questions and comments surrounding privacy via email to info[at]muchlearning[dot]org.

1. Platform

Platform refers to the collaboration platform and websites accessible through, but not limited to, the following domain names

  • muchtraining.org or www.muchtraining.org, and
  • muchlearning.org or www.muchlearning.org, and
  • muchmath.org or www.muchlearning.org,
which are owned and operated by FASTTRACK TECHNOLOGIES INC. (“FTT”), a legal entity incorporated pursuant to the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.

2. Platform Service

Platform services (“Services”) include, without limitation, all features accessible on the Platform. Such features include, but are not limited to all the Platform tools for learning, instructing, assessment, self-assessment and publishing, TestMe™, Assignment Creator, eLectures, eBook, commenting, annotating, and posting to MuchLearning channels.

FTT may add additional features to the current Services, change or eliminate features, change nomenclature, and make other changes at any time. Any such change will still be subject to this Privacy Policy and the Platform’s Terms of Use (“TOU”).

3. Scope

This Privacy Policy covers the entire Platform. It does not, however, apply to entities that FTT does not own or control, such as applications and websites using the Platform.

4. Principles

There are five principles guiding this privacy policy:
  1. We collect personal information and usage statistics to maintain a high-quality customer experience and deliver superior customer service.
  2. Some information we request directly from you during registration. Other pieces of data are gathered indirectly from website traffic or from your computer hardware and Internet connection.
  3. Except under certain limited circumstances set forth here and in our Terms of Use, FTT does not disclose personal information you provide to any third parties without your permission. FTT may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
    1. conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on the Platform;
    2. protect and defend the rights or property of FTT; or
    3. act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of this website, or the public. In addition, if FTT should ever file for bankruptcy or merge with another company, we may sell the information you provide to us on this Platform to a third party or share your personal information with any company with whom we merge.
  4. You will have the ability to update the personal data you provided to us during registration using a web page provided for this purpose.
  5. We shall update this privacy policy in a timely fashion when any changes occur.

5. Information FTT collects

There are different types of information we collect, depending upon your relationship to MuchLearning and your Platform usage.

  • Account Information: When you sign up for an account on the Platform, we may ask for certain personal information including, but not limited to, contact information, such as your name, city and province/state, and an email address, as well as demographic information such as your age and gender. This information is to help us provide you with more relevant content, features and tools.

If you are signing up for a student account, only your email needs to be valid. The remaining information fields are optional. If you are a student using the Platform for your course, there are options in which you are able to utilize the Services without identifying yourself through your email address. This involves your instructor and/or institution in a) paying for your account access on your behalf and b) creating an alias student account for you. If you are using the Services under an alias account you are still bound by and agree to the Platform’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Please contact your instructor if you want an alias account.

If you are signing up for an instructor account, you must fill out all information fields on the sign up page. This is to ensure that FTT can verify your instructor status at your institution and thereby grant you full instructor access.

  • Platform Activity: FTT gathers information about all users such as what content, text, forums, blogs, web pages, areas, features and tools users visit and what services users access most often. Also, FTT automatically logs IP addresses, session sources, and other data which tracks users' access to the Services. We analyze these logs for sales and marketing purposes, for system performance monitoring and breaches of the Platform’s Terms of Use.

  • Payment Information: When you make payments on the Platform, we will share transaction information with only those third parties necessary to complete the transaction. We will require those third parties to agree to respect the privacy of your information. FTT may retain the details of payment transactions you make on the Platform.

  • Access Device and Browser Information: When you access the Platform from a computer, mobile phone, or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, device type and IP address.

  • Cookie Information: The Platform uses "cookies" (small pieces of data stored for some period of time on your computer, mobile phone, or other device) to make certain Platform services easier and faster to use and/or to better direct advertising to you.

  • Service Beta User: If you volunteer to serve as a beta user for our pre-release content, we will track bug reports and potentially individual system performance in an effort to rigorously test pre-deployed technology.

  • Former Registered Users: If you cease being a registered Platform user, FTT may keep a copy of your registration file in our database for use in the event you wish to resume using your account. Please contact us at info[at]muchlearning[dot]org if you wish to completely remove your account.

  • Response to Job Postings or Unsolicited Communications: Please note that information we receive in reference to a job posting, ads or via unsolicited communications do not fall under the privacy terms outlined in this policy. However, information from your resume that you send or upload will be used solely for the purposes of evaluating your candidacy for employment.

  • Individuals Outside of Canada: Anyone using the Platform from outside of Canada should be aware that personal information collected on the website may be stored and processed in Canada or any other country in which FTT, its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using the Platform, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.

6. Your Consent

Periodically, we may need to update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the types of information we collect, the means we use to collect information, and/or our usage of collected information. When this occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to alert you to these changes.

By using the Platform and its services and features, you signify your assent to the Platform’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the Privacy Policy, please do not use the Platform or any of its services and features. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes.

7. Information Displayed to Other Platform Users

You can control who has access to the various type of content you produce, upload or create using the Platform. Please see the “Sharing and Publishing Settings” section from the Terms of Use for more information. In general, you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information using any of the Platform tools and features.

8. Protecting Your Information

We employ industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring, receiving and storing consumer data. Access to your personal information is limited to those FTT employees who require the information in order to provide products or services to you or perform their jobs.

We keep your account information on a secured server. When you interact, browse or use any part of the Platform, we use encrypted channels for sending/receiving data to/from your computer using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

Although we allow you to set Sharing and Publishing options that limit access to your information or content, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. FTT cannot control the actions of other users with whom you share your information. FTT cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will view your information. FTT cannot ensure that information you share on the Platform will not become publicly available. FTT is not responsible for third-party circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures on the Platform. You can reduce these risks by using common sense security practices such as choosing a strong password, using different passwords for different services, and using up-to-date antivirus software.

9. Parental participation

We strongly recommend that minors 13 years of age or older ask their parents' permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet and we encourage parents to teach their children about safe Internet use practices.

10. How to Contact Us
