Dr. Michael Kouritzin

Dr. Michael Kouritzin is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta. He has a distinguished record of teaching, service and research. Previously, he won the Pacific Institute of Mathematical Sciences national outreach prize and led a national center of excellence, where he directed research efforts simultaneously at several universities and companies. He has also published over fifty mathematical papers and been awarded two patents. He has twelve years teaching experience at all levels in Engineering and Mathematics, including Applied and Theoretical Probability as well as Engineering Calculus. He developed the current curriculum for the applied probability courses taught to Computer Science and Mathematics students.
